East Neuk Orchards
Once discovered, never forgotten
Come & discover East Neuk Orchards, tucked away in the East Neuk of Fife and set within our family home, here at Gillingshill, Fife.
At East Neuk Orchards, we have three holiday houses and our very own apple orchard.
Ten minutes drive from the picturesque fishing village of Pittenweem and beaches at Elie, Gillingshill House is perched on the shoulder of Kellie Law with commanding views over Fife’s coastal villages, across the Firth of Forth, to the Bass Rock and beyond.
Our History & Heritage
The very first building at Gillingshill was The Barracks, one of our holiday homes. Predating 1750, it was the original farmhouse.
Gillingshill House, our family home, was built at least 80 years afterwards as the Town Clerk of Anstruther’s family summer residence. In 1911 the house and grounds were remodelled by Sir Robert Lorimer, a noted local architect linked with the Arts and Crafts movement.
Over the years, the various buildings and outbuildings have had multiple uses; farm accommodation, billets for visiting British and Polish officers, weaving, storage, pigsties and even hen coops.
